Commission: a work in the area between prison and the labour building, a route taken by the prisoners four times a day.

The water bisects the prison site and forms a link from outside to inside and vice versa. I wanted to create an image that captures that movement, that flow, and makes it tangible, an image that allows the prisoners themselves to be carried along, not literally, but in thoughts, to another place, another time.

I did not want to introduce a static moment, but rather create a journey which offers a varying view.

The work includes 6 floating, meandering forms like ripples in the water, along the length of the boulevard.
As the viewer walks past, they change in colour and luminosity.
